After earning a B.A. in Spanish and politics studying abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico and earning her certification to teach, Jami furthered her studies at the Art Institute at Dallas, where she became a graphic designer. In short order, Jami began to pair her knowledge of design and love of typography into incredible wedding invitations for brides that wanted something charming and unique.
In 2005, Jami Baber Dixon created Imaj Design with a notion that an invitation should tell more than the date and time of an event. Your invitation will create the setting for the love story that you are inviting people to witness. “Your invitation should be a reflection of you and your style. Your guests should understand that this is a big deal. It is your wedding day,” says Jami Baber Dixon.
Jami has a unique ability to translate a client’s style, personality, and vision into an overall design that is reflected throughout an event. Jami is innovative in her design work, and continues to study design, culture, and trends in order to create invitations that are impressive. “To achieve a custom design that truly reflects my client’s style, personality, and culture, I listen to my clients, do a lot of research, and inevitably learn a lot.”
In addition to gorgeous invitation suites and day of elements, Jami works with small to medium size businesses to create logos, business collateral, website design, and exceptional luxury business cards. “Your business identity is incredibly important. Every element from color to typeface must be scrutinized, so that the design speaks to your intended market,” says Jami.
Outside of design, this native Texan spends time with her family and friends, listens to live music, finds spontaneous fun, practices her Spanish, loves music festivals and loves learning Krav Maga.
